The Teen Health Initiative, in collaboration with the Jersey City Board of Education, offers individual support and group education to pregnant and parenting teens within the context of their curriculum at four Jersey City public high schools. The program is focused on identifying strategies for prevention and the building blocks for the health and safety of vulnerable teens, their children and families. In collaboration with four Jersey City public high schools, we enroll eligible students into the program and provide childbirth preparation, parenting preparation, and life skills training. Education is conducted during Lunch & Learn sessions at the participating schools. Pregnant students receive case management and are referred to corresponding home visitation programs and for social services.
