Total
Quality Improvement
The total quality improvement program monitors and evaluates the quality and appropriateness
of care in the region. The Regional Total Quality Improvement (TQI) process is
established, managed and monitored by the Clinical Committee of the Board of Trustees
of the Hudson Perinatal Consortium, Inc. The Electronic Birth Certificate (EBC)
system is the main source of maternity/newborn data for the Consortium. Eleven
maternal/infant indicators are reviewed and currently tracked over a six-year
period. TQI reports are summarized and submitted for the review and approval of
the Clinical Committee on a quarterly basis.
