Tie a Ribbon for the Cure - September 30, 2011.

The Hudson Perinatal Consortium in collaboration with the Susan G. Komen for the Cure, North Jersey Affiliate and the Hudson County Cancer Coalition is once again planning a special event entitled “Tie a Ribbon for the Cure” campaign to bring breast cancer education and awareness to the residents of Hudson County.

Pink ribbons have become an internationally recognized symbol of courage, support and hope for a cure.  Komen volunteers have spent hundreds of hours preparing the eight foot satin ribbons and laminated, attachable “In honor Of” tags to bear the name of an individual whose life has been touched by breast cancer as well as the lifesaving three steps to early detection.  The ribbons are a powerful way to remind women to do their breast self-exam, schedule, schedule a clinical breast exam and obtain an annual mammogram.

Just like the previous years, HPC staff will be in the municipalities of Harrison, Jersey City, Kearny, West New York, East Newark, Hoboken, North Bergen, Weehawken and Union City; educating over 1,000 Hudson County residents on breast cancer.

Save the date for Hudson Perinatal Consortium's 20th annual meeting and awards celebration.

The event will take place on Wednesday, November 9, 2011 from 5:30 pm – 7:30 pm at Liberty House Restaurant in Jersey City.
